UMLEdit

Terms of Service

Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Jehad Abughazaleh, South Africa (“we”, “us”), who runs UMLEdit (“the service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. The service

UMLEdit is a UML and diagram editor that runs in your web browser. It has a free plan and a paid plan called Pro. What each plan includes is shown on the pricing page. The marker gives automatic feedback on diagrams; it is a study aid, not an official grade, and your lecturer's marking always decides.

2. Your account

3. Pro, prices and payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

4. Refunds

A pass that has started and Lifetime are not refunded, except as set out in the Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.

5. Your diagrams

6. Fair use

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, do not try to get around the limits of your plan, do not share or resell accounts or seats, and do not disturb or attack the service. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

7. Changes and availability

We work to keep the service running and may add, change or remove features. The editor keeps working on your device even when our servers cannot be reached; buying and checking Pro need them.

8. Closing your account

You can stop using the service at any time. To delete your account, open Account in UMLEdit and choose Delete account. This removes it at once and cannot be undone; a pass or Lifetime on it ends with it. Records of payments are kept only as long as the law requires.

9. Liability

The service is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost work, lost marks, lost profit or indirect damage, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law of your country gives you as a consumer and that cannot be set aside by agreement.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to account holders we announce it by e-mail before it applies.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, without taking away the protection that the mandatory consumer law of your own country gives you.

12. Trademarks

UML and Unified Modeling Language are trademarks of the Object Management Group. Visual Paradigm, Lucidchart, StarUML, Microsoft Visio, Enterprise Architect, draw.io and other names are the trademarks of their owners; UMLEdit is not affiliated with them and names them only to say which files it can make for them.
